Welcome

It started in 1988 where I started professionally training dogs. When I started working with dogs I knew this is what I was going to be doing for my career. In the 90s I decided to move on and I opened a kennel in Blairsville Pennsylvania named Blacklick Kennels and Shooting Preserve, throughout this time I was training and competing in horseback field trials with pointers against many successful trainers. In the year 1995 “Loyal Hannah Miss Go” won dog of the year.

Continuing through the years I gathered many classic championship wins outside of my training. One of my biggest awards was the Bill Conily setter award with “Blue Moon John”. Although I loved being up North, I had the urge to go more south with my success. 2001 began our South Georgia journey at Nilo Plantation, where I worked as assistant manager/ dog trainer.

In 2008 I decided I wanted to train for the public, this is where Rockstory Kennels began. Throughout training for the public all while still being involved in the field trial circuit the dogs accumulated 9 dog of the year awards and one Sportsman Award. Year 2013 comes and I am offered a dog trainer position at Pinebloom Plantation to help rebuild their kennel. Throughout this part of my journey Pinebloom Bud took a back-to-back win at the plantation handler trial on wild birds in Albany,Ga. This led me to go further in my career where I was offered a manager/dog trainer position at Rollins Ranch. My team and I worked very hard to rebuild Rollins Ranches kennel.

During the years of plantation work, I found my passion of working with English cockers a little stronger than I did before. Watching these dogs work on pheasants, quail, ducks and dove was always the most amazing thing to see. Outside of training field bred English cockers I began breeding and raising litters as well. What a journey it’s been so far. With that being said, Rockstory Kennels makes its return. I will be offering my services back to the public involving training of all hunting dog breeds. After many years of running dogs through pines, palms and snow and many great hunting memories with great families it’s time to put my 38 years of learning to help others! With that being said Quality doesn’t cost, it pays and Rockstory kennels is back.
